Hiking Switzerland and the Swiss Alps, Stage 14

Timelapse hike Napf Peak to Lüderenalp, Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Timelapse video of hiking in Switzerland. Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. Today’s hike is mostly downhill and through several forests. From the hotel, you can see a rock cliff to the west. Stage 14 hikes behind that cliff and then comes out on the other side. It’s an interesting route that pays off atop a large meadow with 360° views of the Alps to the south and the Jura Mountains behind the Swiss Plateau to the north.

Napf Peak and friendly mountain Goats, Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14, #1 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. Most domestic animals in the Alps are familiar with people. These goats at the Hotel Napf were very friendly. Napf peak is a 1400 m (4600 ft) Alp foothill in the center of Switzerland. I’m looking south toward the Bernese Oberland. The world-famous Eiger 3970 m (13025 ft), Mönch 4099 m (13448 ft), and Jungfrau 4158 m (13642 ft) are the highlight peaks in the distance. “Mönch” means “monk” and “Jungfrau” means “virgin”. Glacier Aggregate Rocks alone the Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14, #2 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. The gravel was transported during the ice ages from the Swiss mountains to the plains where they lie in deep deposits. In the area between Zurich, Lucerne, and Bern the layers are between 20m and 40m deep.

Fun Morning Hike on Mt. Napf, Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14, #3 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. I really enjoyed hiking in this area with the cool morning air. The long view around the ridgeline ahead was fun to see as well.

Two Alp Restaurants near Lüderenalp, Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14, #4 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. I visit two Alp Houses along the trail. Alp Farm Niederenzi (Alpwirtschaft Niederenzi) is a self-serve counter while Alp Restaurant Lushütte is full service. I wish I had stopped at Lushütte because their website looks like they are a fun place (http://www.lushuette.ch).

Avoiding the Cows with horns on Trail. Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14, #6 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. I love taking photos of cows, but I don’t really like up-close encounters. My grandparents owned a dairy farm in Illinois yet I never got comfortable with these large bovines. See what I do when a horned cow is in my way.

Alp views from the Lüderenalp Hotel, Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 14 (Daily 360° VR Video)

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 14, #7 – Napf Peak to Lüderenalp. In the heart of the Emmenthaller Region are the Lüderenalp and Baernsicht (Bear View) Hotel and Restaurant (https://www.baernsicht.ch). With its Bernese Oberland Alp Views, this location was originally a medical treatment center for tuberculosis. Today, the hotel and restaurant seem to be doing good business.
