I’m walking through Aubonne and I stop for a special pastry. I will return to Aubonne because I enjoyed it.
Aubonne to Nyon. Great views looking over Lake Geneva and the Swiss Vineyards. Comment if you’ve visited this area.
I hiked through several small, wine producing, historic villages such as Fechy and Mont-sur-Rolle. The Campagne De Beaulieu, Vincy Castle and Farmhouse ECA are all registered landmarks in Gilly.
Several of the common store-bought white wines are grown in the vineyards I’m walking through. Each named after its respective town.
“Toblerones” was the popular name for the tank traps set up as defensive lines between Bassins and Nyon in the second world war. Their triangular shape looks like the “peaks” of a Toblerone chocolate bar, and that explains the name given to the 3,000 concrete triangles. The “Toblerones” are lined along a stretch of about ten kilometers between the Jura foothills and Lake Geneva.
La Rancho, Golf du Domaine Imperial, and wading into Lake Geneva.
Arriving in Nyon and the Swiss National Museum. More Lake Geneva Views.
