Hiking Switzerland and the Swiss Alps, Segment 19

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 19, #1 – Guggisberg to Schwarzsee. It’s early and I have morning views of the Alps from the town of Guggisberg. A famous Swiss folk song, one of the oldest, refers to Guggisberg. The Vrenelilied is a sad song about little Verena who yearns for her boyfriend, Hans-Jakob, who lives on the other side of the mountain. I walk this trek in Verena and Hans-Jakob’s memory : ) There are a few challenges in this stage as we hike down the Guggishorn to the next foothill. Then the trail goes up and down that mountain and from there the trail goes up the “Warm Sense” River valley (Warme Sense) to Schwarzsee.

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 19, #3 – Guggisberg to Schwarzsee. Brönnti Egg (Bernt Ridge) is on the top of the foothill between Guggisberg and the “Warm Sense” River valley (Warme Sense). Brönnti Creme is also the name of a famous Swiss dessert, similar to a creme brûlée.

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 19, #4 – Guggisberg to Schwarzsee. I don’t stop too often at the houses along the trail, but this one was such a beautiful example of the classic Swiss Chalet that I had to stop and look.

Swiss Alpine Panorama Trail, Segment 19, #6 – Guggisberg to Schwarzsee. I really enjoy meeting new friends while hiking and these sheep were very friendly. One even walks up and poses for a photo.
